overview
One of Songtrust’s main features is to let songwriters know where their songs are in the global registration process, so they can know when to expect their royalties. I worked to redesign our previous registration status to be more transparent and intuitive for songwriters.
Note: this is an interim solution until the full holistic redesign rolls out, where I will be able to redesign the entire song list and song page UX/UI.

Over 50% of our customer feedback was questions regarding song registration. “It just says processing. What does that mean?”
Old song list page had an unclear icon with no copy to explain the status.
Old song page had minimal, unclear copy, which resulted in hundreds of customer service requests.

I wanted the new design to be beneficial to both the user and the customer service team.
The new list page has update icons, copy, and hover states to provide more detail.
The new song page has a more comprehensive status tracker with informative icons, copy, hover states, and next steps so the user knows exactly where their song is in the registration process. This has resulted in cutting song registration-related customer service requests in half!
